KTT Darurat Arab Islam di Doha Tak Hasilkan Aksi Nyata Negara Arab Dinilai Tak Berdaya Hadapi Israel

Pertemuan itu digelar untuk menunjukkan dukungan kepada Qatar pascaserangan Israel yang menyasar pimpinan Hamas di kota tersebut.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, sejumlah negara menyampaikan kecaman keras terhadap Israel.
Namun, KTT berakhir tanpa menghasilkan langkah konkret berupa sanksi maupun tekanan lain.
Tidak ada keputusan mengenai embargo, pengurangan produksi minyak, atau bentuk aksi kolektif lain terhadap Israel maupun sekutunya, Amerika Serikat.
Kondisi ini kontras dengan Oktober 1973 ketika perang Yom Kippur pecah.
Saat itu, negara-negara Arab melalui OAPEC yang dipimpin Arab Saudi memberlakukan embargo minyak terhadap AS dan negara Barat lain yang mendukung Israel.
Langkah embargo tersebut kala itu terbukti efektif, mendorong Barat masuk ke jurang resesi sekaligus mempercepat tercapainya gencatan senjata.
Kini, meski jumlah korban jiwa di Gaza mendekati 65.000 orang, sebagian besar perempuan dan anak-anak, negara-negara Arab dinilai tidak mengambil langkah serupa.
Sekjen Dewan Kerja Sama Teluk (GCC) Jasem Mohamed al-Budaiwi menilai AS seharusnya menggunakan pengaruhnya untuk menekan Israel.
