PLO | Điểm nóng: Ông Biden gấp rút trở lại Washington, gọi cho ông Trump ngay sau vụ ám sátNgày 13/7 (theo giờ Mỹ), Tổng thống Joe Biden đã trao đổi qua điện thoại với cựu Tổng thống Donald Trump sau vụ nổ súng tại sự kiện vận động tranh cử của ông Trump ở thành phố Butler, bang Pennsylvania. Trong tuyên bố của mình, ông Biden lên án hành vi bạo lực này và nhấn mạnh rằng không thể để những sự việc như vậy tiếp diễn. Ông cũng xác nhận đã nói chuyện với ông Trump ngay sau vụ việc.
Sau vụ nổ súng, Tổng thống Biden đã rút ngắn chuyến nghỉ dưỡng tại Delaware để trở về Washington, nơi ông sẽ nhận được báo cáo cập nhật từ lực lượng thực thi pháp luật vào sáng 14/7. Ông Biden cũng đã thảo luận với Thống đốc bang Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro và Thị trưởng thành phố Butler, Bob Dandoy về sự việc.
Theo CNN, FBI đã xác định được nghi phạm là một đối tượng 20 tuổi ở bang Pennsylvania, nhưng tên của nghi phạm chưa được công bố. FBI và các cơ quan chức năng tiếp tục điều tra để làm rõ động cơ và chi tiết vụ tấn công.
