(Agenzia Vista) “Vorrei dire che oggi l’Europa è ungherese senza alcun dubbio. Il popolo ungherese ha parlato e ha rivendicato il proprio percorso europeo. È una vittoria per le libertà fondamentali e voglio davvero dire al popolo ungherese che lo avete fatto ancora una volta, contro ogni previsione, come avete fatto nel 1956 quando vi siete opposti coraggiosamente. Come hai fatto nel 1981, 1989, quando sei stato il primo a tagliare il filo spinato che divideva il nostro continente. Quindi con questo risultato la nostra unione è più forte. La nostra unione è più unita, ieri è stata una serata eccezionale. Naturalmente inizieremo a lavorare con il governo il prima possibile sugli argomenti da voi menzionati e molto altro ancora per compiere progressi rapidi e attesi a beneficio del popolo ungherese. C’è molto lavoro da fare mentre l’Ungheria sta tornando sul percorso europeo. Ma penso che dovremmo anche considerare le lezioni apprese all’interno dell’Unione Europea, ad esempio, penso che si passi al voto a maggioranza qualificata in politica estera. È un modo importante per evitare blocchi sistematici come abbiamo visto in passato, e ora dovremmo sfruttare lo slancio per andare avanti davvero su questo argomento. Ma oggi, ovviamente, è un giorno da festeggiare, quindi voglio ricordare quello che ho detto una volta in un discorso. Per il popolo ungherese, siamo una famiglia, la tua storia è la nostra storia, il tuo futuro è il nostro futuro e cammineremo con te in ogni passo del cammino”. Lo ha dichiarato la presidente della Commissione europea, Ursula von der Leyen, parlando alla stampa al termine della riunione del collegio dei commissari dedicata all'impatto delle tensioni in Medio Oriente.Ebs
