IRONIC: Kash Patel Gets HAUNTED by His Own Favorite Word

Sen. Adam Schiff asks FBI chief Kash Patel: were agents fired in whole or in part for the Trump cases?
Patel's reply, twice: 'I've answered the question.'

At a Sept. 15, 2026 Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) pressed FBI Director Kash Patel on the agents who worked the two Trump investigations. Patel said none were fired for the "simple fact" of working them, only if they "weaponized law enforcement." Asked twice whether they were fired "in whole or in part" for that work, Patel said, "I've answered the question." Schiff: "I don't think you have."

Patel never told Schiff what the word means. On Nov. 2, Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui threw out a separate case against two former FBI officials, a case an FBI agent testified Patel ordered, saying from the bench it "cannot be described as anything other than weaponization." The Justice Department disagrees. My read: after that, Patel's word is no neutral standard.
