Se dice que los ordenadores cuánticos podrían poner en peligro la seguridad informática mundial. Pero ¿por qué? La clave está en un algoritmo capaz de factorizar números enormes mucho más rápido que un ordenador clásico: el algoritmo de Shor.
En este vídeo explicamos qué tiene que ver la factorización de enteros con la criptografía RSA, por qué multiplicar es fácil pero deshacer la multiplicación puede ser dificilísimo, y cómo una idea matemática sobre periodos puede convertirse en una amenaza para muchas de nuestras claves actuales.
Hoy nos acercamos al algoritmo de Shor: el algoritmo cuántico más famoso, capaz de factorizar números enteros de una forma que podría romper sistemas criptográficos como RSA. Y lo haremos paso a paso, con un ejemplo pequeño, para ver dónde está realmente la magia.
