In 1997, in a small village in Iowa, a series of crimes sends a wave of panic through the population. Two young men commit robberies, kidnap people and kill them before fleeing. Before they can be identified, they're already 24 hours ahead of the police. A manhunt is organized. The FBI puts all its resources at the disposal of the police to track down the suspects.
