Xi Jinping Visits North Korea for First Time in Nearly 7 Years
Chinese President Xi Jinping is making his first visit to North Korea in nearly seven years, holding talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang.The visit comes as Beijing seeks to reinforce its relationship with its longtime ally amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in East Asia. It also follows growing military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, while negotiations over Pyongyang's nuclear program with the United States remain at a standstill.
Analysts say the meeting could signal closer coordination between China and North Korea on regional security, economic cooperation, and diplomatic strategy.
