¿Imaginas una metrópoli de miles de almas bullendo en la espesura de la inhóspita jungla, muy lejos del mar, con pirámides de 70 metros desafiando el cielo y rutas comerciales de jade y obsidiana? No, no es ficción: es Tikal, la "Nueva York" maya, oculta bajo la selva guatemalteca. Y es que a 70 metros los mayas tuvieron un mirador privilegiado, un mirador que le fascinó tanto a George Lucas, que decidió rodar ahí su primera película de Star Wars. Pero, ¿Y si te dijera que Tikal es mucho más grande de lo que pensamos? Gracias al innovador sistema Lidar en los últimos años se han podido realizar un montón de hallazgos impresionantes. Hallazgos que te van a dejar de piedra. Te voy a hablar de los más importantes, incluso de un altar descubierto hace escasos meses.
