ÉBOLA super rara en R.D. CONGO - Emergencia Internacional ¿Por qué?
Hay un brote de ébola activo ahora mismo en el Congo causado por una cepa tan rara que los test de campo no la detectaban. La OMS acaba de declarar emergencia sanitaria internacional, y lo que más mola del asunto —en plan oscuro— es que la humanidad solo ha visto esta cepa en dos brotes anteriores: el primero fue hace casi veinte años.En el video te cuento cómo empezó todo con una enfermera que llegó destrozada a un centro médico el 24 de abril, por qué el virus ganó semanas de ventaja antes de que alguien lo identificara, y cómo un señor de 59 años cruzó la frontera con Uganda en autobús, llegó a Kampala y murió en un hospital privado. Todo eso, junto a una zona minera llena de grupos armados vinculados al Estado Islámico y casi 300.000 desplazados hacinados, convierte esto en una mezcla explosiva.
El dato que más me flipa: la cepa Bundibugyo mata entre el 30 y el 50% de los infectados, y no hay vacuna específica para ella. Para lo que sí hay vacuna es para otra cepa distinta.
