Backed by foreign knights and powerful military orders, King Alfonso VIII sought revenge—and survival—against the mighty Almohad Caliphate. This episode explores the dramatic lead-up to the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, one of the most decisive clashes of the Reconquista. From the fall of Calatrava and internal divisions within the crusader host, to the complex composition of the Almohad army, the stage was set for a titanic confrontation.
