All'alba di mercoledì 10 settembre, sotto la pioggia, anziché salire direttamente sul cavalcavia Borgomagno in direzione Arcella, il tram di Padova ha attraversato per la prima volta piazzale Stazione, dove nelle scorse settimane è stato realizzato un vero e proprio anello (di rotaie), che costituirà il punto in cui, presumibilmente tra un anno, la linea Sir 1 Guizza-Pontevigodarzere (in servizio dal 2007) si incrocerà con le due in costruzione, la Sir 2 Rubano-Vigonza e la Sir 3 Stazione-Voltabarozzo. Le corse nell'area antistante l'ingresso principale della ferrovia sono state effettuate senza passeggeri a bordo e praticamente a passo d'uomo nell'ambito del rodaggio preteso dal ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti per poi dare il via libera al rientro in funzione della stessa Sir 1, ferma dal 30 giugno scorso per consentire non solo i consueti lavori di manutenzione straordinaria sui binari, ma anche, come detto, quelli per allacciare gli scambi dell'attuale direttrice con quelli delle due nuove.
