Dietro quella dichiarazione ci sono sette anni nell'ambasciata dell'Ecuador a Londra, cinque nel carcere di massima sicurezza di Belmarsh, i war logs su Iraq e Afghanistan, Collateral Murder e Chelsea Manning.
Il giorno dopo l'Assemblea ha votato una risoluzione che riconosce Assange come prigioniero politico e invita gli Stati Uniti a indagare sui crimini di guerra rivelati da WikiLeaks.
La posta in gioco resta il precedente: la criminalizzazione della raccolta di notizie e il rischio per chiunque pubblichi verità scomode.
