MBS 'Wanted' US To Fight Houthis; Washington 'Refuses' To Lead Saudi War In Yemen |Firstpost Live|4K
The Trump administration has rejected Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s request for the United States to lead a new military campaign against Yemen’s Houthis. The request reportedly came during a mid-August meeting with U.S. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper. Saudi Arabia has faced repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks, raising concerns over its territory, shipping routes and economic interests. The conflict has deep roots, with Saudi Arabia intervening directly in 2009 before leading an Arab coalition into Yemen in 2015. Despite a 2022 truce, tensions have resurfaced. Washington may offer intelligence and logistical support, but Riyadh would have to lead. Josh Barnes brings you the report on Firstpost Live.00:00 — Saudi Arabia Asks U.S. to Fight Houthis
