Overachieving Won’t Save Us | Arkira Noonpakdee | TEDxLANNA Intl School Youth

In this reflective and thought-provoking talk, Arkira challenges the culture of overachievement by exploring how society often confuses constant productivity with genuine worth. Drawing on personal experience, she reflects on burnout, the emptiness of relentless striving, and the pressure young people face to build perfect résumés at the expense of joy, identity, and wellbeing. She also connects this issue to wider systems such as hustle culture, high-pressure education, and burnout in prestigious careers. Ultimately, she urges her audience to redefine success around meaning, balance, and what truly matters. Arkira Noonpakdee is a Year 11 student who has spent most of her school life at Lanna International School, having joined in Year 2 of Primary. She is deeply involved in the student-led public speaking programme, earning distinctions in debating, MUN, mock trial, and more. Outside the classroom, Arkira is also a keen equestrian.
