Pilar Pengabdian: Perjuangan Guru Honorer di Jawa Barat
Jawa Barat dikenal sebagai provinsi dengan jumlah sekolah ke-2 terbanyak di Indonesia. Namun, jumlah tersebut belum mewakilkan kualitas pendidikan yang sudah merata.Faktanya, guru dan siswa SMPN 04 Cibitung di Sukabumi, masih harus menggunakan perahu lapuk yang sudah bocor untuk sampai ke sekolah.
Salah satu sekolah di Bogor juga turut memiliki kondisi yang memprihatinkan seperti misalnya SDN Kadusewu Kelas Jauh memiliki kondisi bangunan yang tidak layak hingga membahayakan guru dan siswa yang sedang menimba ilmu.
Kedua sekolah tersebut disatukan dengan pokok masalah yang sama, yaitu akses yang sulit dan juga status guru honorer yang jauh dari kata “sejahtera”. Berdasarkan data survei IDEAS mengenai kesejahteraan guru di Indonesia pada 2024, 74% guru honorer masih memiliki gaji di bawah 2 juta per bulan. Angka tersebut jauh dari kata cukup, mengingat Upah Minimum Pokok (UMP) terendah di Indonesia masih menyentuh angka 2 juta rupiah.
Tim Pilar Pengabdian merupakan persatuan dari tiga mahasiswa Universitas Multimedia Nusantara Muhammad Daffa Abyan, Ryan Richardo, Muhammad Rafli yang memiliki keinginan untuk menyuarakan hak para guru honorer di Jawa Barat.
