Der Bodensee leidet unter anhaltender Hitze: Der Wasserstand ist so niedrig wie selten, der See erwärmt sich bis in die Tiefe, und in flachen Bereichen bilden sich giftige Algen, die vor allem für Hunde gefährlich sind. Zuflüsse wie der Rhein bringen derzeit deutlich weniger Wasser ein, als am Ausfluss abfließt.
