The Real Story Behind the Kandahar Giant
The most viral story from the Afghan war was not about the Taliban but U.S. Special Forces killing a Giant in Kandahar. Why did this resonate so much? Today we trace Afghanistan’s giant story from a missing patrol and alleged military coverup to Soviet accounts, Himalayan wildmen, and centuries of folklore.Investigating the story made popular by Mr. Ballen and Joe Rogan's podcast, looking deeper into the claims and the legend’s changing details reveals something stranger: how fear, rumors, and the unknown turn battlefield stories into viral myths that refuse to die.
