Russia has sharply intensified strikes on infrastructure in Ukraine, with an AFP analysis of Armed Conflict Location and Event (ACLED) data showing around 100 strikes or series of strikes on civilian storage facilities in the Kyiv region since mid-June. That compares with about 50 recorded from the start of the war in February 2022 through mid-June 2026, although the tally is not exhaustive. Russian attacks have also increasingly hit distribution sites, shops, markets and fuel infrastructure, disrupting supply chains and affecting civilian life far from the front line. With winter approaching, the intensifying infrastructure strikes are raising fresh concerns about civilian vulnerability and the wider impact of the Russia-Ukraine war.---
