Venezuela, subject to sanctions from the USA and ridden with corruption, is bankrupt. Despite the country’s vast oil reserves, millions of Venezuelans suffer from hunger; the supermarkets are almost empty, food is sold at exorbitant prices, and hospitals are running out of medicine.
