Guido Crosetto ha escluso la possibilità di concedere la base di Sigonella agli Stati Uniti, aprendo un nuovo fronte di riflessione sul ruolo dell’Italia e, più in generale, dell’Europa nello scenario internazionale. A commentare la vicenda è stato il generale Leonardo Tricarico durante la trasmissione Ignoto X, con parole che esprimono una certa amarezza. Secondo Tricarico, l’aspetto più avvilente della situazione non risiede tanto nella decisione in sé, quanto nel fatto che un ministro italiano o un premier spagnolo si siano trovati nella posizione di doversi opporre agli Stati Uniti.
