INS Himgiri Commissioning LIVE: Indian Navy Commissions New Warships INS Udaygiri & Himgiri |Rajnath

The Indian Navy will commission two Nilgiri-class stealth guided-missile frigates, INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, simultaneously on August 26 at Visakhapatnam. India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will preside over the commissioning ceremony of the new Indian warships. The Indian Navy commissioned the two stealth frigates as part of Project 17-A. This marks the Navy’s first-ever simultaneous induction of frontline warships. Built in Mumbai and Kolkata, the ships feature advanced stealth, weapons, and sensors. Udaygiri also becomes the Navy’s 100th vessel designed by its Warship Design Bureau. Both frigates will join the Eastern Fleet, boosting India’s maritime power in the Indian Ocean.
