Der Grimme-Preis-prämierte Filmautor hat die "Wut-Trilogie" gemacht, er hat Menschen in Ost und West zugehört, die mit der aktuellen Lage in Deutschland ziemlich unzufrieden sind. Gerade erscheint die dritte Dokumentation der Reihe. Sie blickt auf Orte im Westen, die von Strukturwandel und Landflucht gezeichnet sind. Die Menschen fühlen sich abgehängt. Sie sind damit vielen Landsleuten im Osten ziemlich ähnlich. Schmidt findet es bemerkenswert, dass die Reaktionen darauf oft ähnlich sind, in einem entscheidenden Punkt aber nicht.
