In this short we're going to quickly look at which states Americans are moving to and which states they're moving from, some of the statistics may surprise you (although maybe not). This short might be a bit confusing, but the states of the Northeast such as New York have produced the highest number of internal migrants leaving for other states, mostly to those in the South and the West, while Southern states such as Virginia, Texas, Georgia and Florida have absorbed the most internal migrants. Texas has the lowest proportion of residents who eventually depart their state while the smaller "Flyover" states like Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas and Alaska have the highest proportion of those moving somewhere else in the country.
