The method starts with the business problem rather than the technology: collecting what plant engineers, planners and operators actually face, ranking them against current baselines and target KPIs, and using the headroom between the two to build the investment case.
He describes the longer goal as a shift from automation-driven manufacturing to conscious autonomous manufacturing, where agentic systems sense deviation, predict what may go wrong and act within a defined degree of autonomy.
On working with startups, he offers both sides of the problem. Startups too often lead with a technology lens when the organization is buying a business outcome. Corporates, in turn, break the momentum that makes startups valuable through slow NDAs and delayed onboarding.
