Kurz vor den Landtagswahlen im September verbreiten sich auf Social Media massenhaft Fake-Videos über deutsche Lokalpolitiker. Hinter der mutmaßlich russischen Kampagne „Matrjoschka“ steckt offenbar das Ziel, Vertrauen in Politik und Medien zu schwächen, Wahlen zu beeinflussen und die Gesellschaft gezielt zu spalten.

Während wegen Trockenheit und hoher Waldbrandgefahr vielerorts Feuerwerke abgesagt werden, soll das Großfeuerwerk bei „Rhein in Flammen“ in Koblenz am Samstag stattfinden. Die Behörden halten die Veranstaltung trotz Hitze für vertretbar.
