The India–Myanmar border is witnessing renewed security tensions after the September 29, 2026 ambush on an Assam Rifles patrol in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, followed by reports of a drone attack targeting the residence of NSCN-K(YA) commander Akham Konyak in Myanmar.

NSCN-K(YA) and the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) have claimed responsibility for the Changlang ambush in which one Assam Rifles personnel was killed and four others were injured.
