Mehr als 40.000 Menschen kamen ums Leben. Der Verzicht der PKK auf ihre Waffen ist Teil eines Friedensprozesses mit dem türkischen Staat, der 2024 begann, bisher aber nur langsam vorankommt. Am Montagabend hat das Parlament in Ankara ein Gesetz beschlossen, das ein wichtiger nächster Schritt sein könnte.
