Auf dem NATO-Gipfel beraten die Staats- und Regierungschefs der 32 Mitgliedsländer über die größte Aufrüstung seit dem Kalten Krieg: Bis 2035 sollen die Verteidigungsausgaben auf 5% des Bruttoinlandsprodukts steigen. Die Ukraine spielt dabei nur eine Nebenrolle – neue Hilfen oder eine klare Beitrittsperspektive bleiben aus. Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj fordert schärfere Sanktionen gegen Russland, doch die Unterstützung aus den USA und von Donald Trump schwindet. Die Zukunft der Ukraine im Bündnis bleibt ungewiss.
