Kanzler Friedrich Merz startet mit einem politischen Paukenschlag ins neue Jahr. Sein enger Vertrauter und Büroleiter Jacob Schrot muss nach nur acht Monaten im Amt gehen. Offiziell sprechen beide Seiten von einer einvernehmlichen Trennung. Hinter den Kulissen war der Druck jedoch deutlich spürbar. Kritik kam nicht nur aus dem Kanzleramt selbst, sondern zunehmend auch aus der CDU CSU Bundestagsfraktion sowie aus wirtschaftlichen Kreisen.

Der Rauswurf wirft damit Fragen auf, die über Personalien hinausgehen. Er zeigt, wie angespannt das Umfeld ist, in dem Merz derzeit agiert, und wie hoch die Erwartungen insbesondere vonseiten der Wirtschaft sind. Denn: Die deutsche Wirtschaft steckt in einer kritischen Lage! Hohe Energiepreise, schwaches Wachstum, zunehmende Bürokratie und eine spürbare Investitionszurückhaltung setzen Unternehmen unter Druck. Viele fragen sich, ob der Wirtschaftsstandort Deutschland weiter an Wettbewerbsfähigkeit verliert.
