Dann sagte sie die wohl schwersten Worte, die ein Mensch aussprechen kann: „Ich vergebe ihm.“

Dem Mann, der ihrem Ehemann bei einer Diskussionsveranstaltung an einer Universität mit einem Gewehr in den Hals schoss. Dem Mann, der ihre Kinder zu Halbwaisen, sie zur Witwe machte: „Ich vergebe ihm, weil es das ist, was Christus tat, und weil es das ist, was Charlie getan hätte.“

Bei der Trauerfeier für den ermordeten Trump-Aktivisten Charlie Kirk schickte die gläubige Christin ihre wichtigste Botschaft an die Welt: „Die Antwort auf Hass ist nicht Hass.“ Die Antwort sei „immer Liebe“, sogar „Liebe zu unseren Feinden und Liebe zu denen, die uns verfolgen“.
