The $320 million temporary U.S.-built pier in Gaza broke due to rough seas and heavy winds just a week after it began to operate. The damage forced the U.S. to halt humanitarian aid to Gaza.The pier was “damaged and sections of the pier need rebuilding and repairing,” Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said.
It is not yet determined how long repairs to the pier will take.
