Manuel Neuer steht erstmals seit dem WM-K.o. in Katar vor 18 Monaten wieder im Tor der Fußball-Nationalmannschaft. Der Torwart vom FC Bayern München feiert wie von Julian Nagelsmann angekündigt am Montagabend (20:45 Uhr/ARD) in Nürnberg sein DFB-Comeback. Der 38-Jährige verdrängt damit wieder Ersatzmann Marc-André ter Stegen. Im Vergleich zu den erfolgreichen Testspielen in Frankreich (2:0) und gegen die Niederlande (2:1) im März nimmt der Bundestrainer nur zwei weitere Änderungen in der Startelf vor.Pascal Groß ersetzt Toni Kroos auf der Sechserposition neben Robert Andrich. In der Viererabwehrkette nimmt Waldemar Anton vom VfB Stuttgart den Platz von Antonio Rüdiger an der Seite von Jonathan Tah ein.
Die Partie gegen die Ukraine ist der vorletzte Test vor Beginn der Heim-EM. Am Freitag folgt noch das Spiel gegen Griechenland in Mönchengladbach. Zum Turnierauftakt geht es am 14. Juni in München gegen Schottland.
