David Carlson, former roommate of Vance Boelter—the suspect wanted in the shootings of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette—shared an emotional plea, urging Boelter not to harm himself or others. Carlson said he’s been unable to reach Boelter, whose phone goes straight to voicemail.“I love him, and he’s still my best friend. I hope he doesn’t hurt anyone else, and I hope he turns himself in for the sake of his family,” he said.
The manhunt for Boelter continues into its second day in Faxon Township, Sibley County, where one of his vehicles was found. An emergency alert was issued in the area as law enforcement intensified their search. Authorities warn that Boelter is armed and dangerous. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
