Deutsche Fans treffen zur Houston WM zunehmend in Texas ein. Nach anfänglich leeren Straßen rund um die riesige Metropole füllt sich die Fanmeile inzwischen mit Fußballanhängern aus aller Welt. Besonders bei den Spielen von Mexiko und Brasilien herrschte Hochbetrieb, während die Stimmung bei den USA-Partien noch verhalten wirkte. Neben der Hitze mit rund 32 Grad und hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit sorgen vor allem die Preise für Gesprächsstoff. Ein Wasser kostet auf der Fanmeile sechs Dollar, ein amerikanisches Bier 13 Dollar, Importbier sogar 15 Dollar. Für zwei Dosen werden inklusive Steuern schnell horrende Summen fällig.
