Badan pertahanan sipil Meksiko mengatakan curah hujan yang intens telah memengaruhi 31 dari 32 negara bagian di negara itu.
Sehingga menyebabkan sungai meluap, desa-desa terendam total, longsor terjadi, serta jalan dan jembatan ambruk.
Negara bagian Hidalgo di wilayah tengah menjadi salah satu yang paling parah terdampak.
Pejabat di sana melaporkan 16 kematian, sekitar 1.000 rumah rusak, dan 90 komunitas terputus dari tim penyelamat.
Negara bagian tetangga, Puebla, mencatat sedikitnya sembilan kematian, meskipun jumlah korban mungkin bertambah seiring berlanjutnya upaya pencarian, dengan sekitar 80.000 orang terdampak.
Banjir juga menewaskan dua orang di Veracruz timur dan satu orang di Queretaro, di Meksiko tengah.
Presiden Claudia Sheinbaum melalui platform X mengatakan pemerintah sedang bekerja untuk membantu komunitas yang terdampak, membuka kembali jalan, dan memulihkan listrik.
Di sisi lain, Laura Velazquez, koordinator nasional pertahanan sipil, menyoroti dampak tanah longsor, luapan sungai, dan ambruknya jalan di negara-negara bagian yang paling parah.
Lebih dari 5.400 tentara, bersama dengan kendaraan dan peralatan penyelamat, telah dikerahkan untuk mendistribusikan bantuan dan membantu warga.
