Nantinya tentara Malaysia akan bekerja sama dengan TNI dalam menjalankan misi tersebut.
Hal ini terungkap dalam percakapan telepon Perdana Menteri Malaysia dan Menteri Pertahanan RI Prabowo Subianto, Senin (1/7/2024).
Anwar menyambut baik gagasan untuk memperluas kerja sama Malaysia dan Indonesia dalam mewujudkan perdamaian global.
Namun, terkait pengerahan pasukan penjaga perdamaian ke Gaza masih menunggu mandat dari PBB.
"Saya sampaikan kesiapan Malaysia untuk bekerja sama, termasuk dalam pengerahan pasukan penjaga perdamaian bersama Indonesia," kata Anwar, dikutip dari Bernama, Rabu (3/7/2024).
Sebelumnya, Prabowo lebih dulu menyatakan kesiapan Indonesia untuk mengirim pasukan ke Gaza.
Hal itu disampaikan dalam dialog di Singapura yang kemudian diutarakan kembali selama KTT di Yordania pada awal Juni.
Kemudian, Prabowo juga menyampaikan bahwa pemerintah siap mengevakuasi 1.000 warga Palestina untuk dirawat di Indonesia.
