Perusahaan ini didirikan oleh William Boeing di Seattle, Amerika Serikat dengan nama Pacific Aero Products Co.
Namun perusahaan ini berganti nama menjadi Boeing Airplane Company selang satu tahun kemudian.
Pada masa awal, Boeing memproduksi pesawat-pesawat tempur untuk mendukung kekuatan Amerika Serikat dalam Perang Dunia I dan II.
Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, Boeing pun makin berinovasi dengan memproduksi pesawat komersial.
Lalu pada tahun 2000, Boeing merambah penjelajahan luar angkasa.
Bahkan pada 2014-2015, NASA memberikan kontrak pada Boeing dan Space X milik Elon Musk untuk menerbangkan astronot ke Stasiun Luar Angkasa Internasional.
