Diriyah, Suudi Arabistan’ın başkenti Riyad’ın batısında yer alan ve Suud Hanedanı’nın doğduğu yer olarak bilinen tarihi bir bölgedir. 18. yüzyılda bir Arap devleti olarak Osmanlı’ya karşı direnişin merkezi haline gelen Birinci Suudi Devleti’nin başkentiydi. 1818’de Osmanlı ve Mısır güçleri tarafından yıkılana kadar Suudi Arabistan’ın siyasi ve kültürel merkeziydi.

Diriyah’ın en önemli bölgesi, kerpiç mimarisiyle dikkat çeken At-Turaif tarihi mahallesidir. Bu bölge, 2010 yılında UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi’ne alınmıştır. At-Turaif, geleneksel Necd mimarisinin en güzel örneklerini barındırır ve Suudi tarihine ışık tutan önemli bir kültürel miras alanıdır.

Günümüzde Diriyah, büyük bir turizm ve kültür merkezi haline getirilmek üzere restorasyon projeleriyle yeniden canlandırılıyor. Diriyah Gate Projesi kapsamında, lüks oteller, restoranlar, müzeler ve kültürel etkinlik alanları inşa edilerek, burası Suudi Arabistan’ın en önemli turistik bölgelerinden biri haline getirilmeye çalışılıyor.
