Le nom de cette pratique née au Japon dans les années 1980 est un mot-valise composé des termes anglais "costume" et "play". Pour des millions de "cosplayeurs", il s’agit de bien plus qu’un hobby : incarner un personnage de fiction relève d’une quête d’identité.
