The Fellow Series 1 is one of the most customizable espresso machines we’ve tested — but it definitely wasn’t love at first shot.After struggling to get consistent espresso with the Series 1 out of the box, Rebecca and Wendy went back to the drawing board, adjusted the machine’s profiles and “nerdy” settings, and gave it another shot. In this review, we walk through the machine’s features, espresso profiles, brew settings, dialing-in process, steam wand and overall workflow to see what the Series 1 is really capable of.
Once properly dialed in, the results changed our opinion quite a bit — but this still isn’t necessarily a plug-and-play espresso machine. If you love experimenting with variables, creating custom profiles and really fine-tuning your espresso, the Fellow Series 1 offers a ton of control.
