PLO | Liên Hợp Quốc lên án mạnh mẽ hành động ám sát ông TrumpNgày 13/7, Tổng thư ký Liên Hợp Quốc Antonio Guterres mạnh mẽ lên án vụ nổ súng nhằm vào cựu Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump tại sự kiện vận động tranh cử ở Butler, Pennsylvania. Ông Guterres gửi lời chúc sức khỏe và mong ông Trump mau chóng bình phục. Lãnh đạo nhiều quốc gia cũng lên tiếng phản đối vụ tấn công này.
Thủ tướng Canada Justin Trudeau nhấn mạnh bạo lực chính trị không thể chấp nhận, trong khi đại diện cao cấp của EU, Josep Borrell, lên án hành vi bạo lực nhằm vào các chính trị gia. Tổng thống Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva và các lãnh đạo Argentina, Chile, Bolivia đều bày tỏ sự phản đối. Thủ tướng Australia Anthony Albanese và Thủ tướng Hungary Viktor Orban chia sẻ sự lo ngại và gửi lời cầu nguyện tới ông Trump. Từ Ấn Độ, Thủ tướng Narendra Modi cũng lên án mạnh mẽ hành vi này.
FBI xác nhận vụ tấn công là một âm mưu ám sát. Nghi phạm, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 tuổi, bị tiêu diệt tại hiện trường. Vụ việc khiến 2 người bị thương nghiêm trọng và 1 người thiệt mạng. Nhà chức trách đang tiếp tục điều tra và triển khai biện pháp ứng phó an ninh.
Sau vụ nổ súng, ông Trump đã rời Butler và đến Bedminster, New Jersey.
