LIVE: Indian Coast Guard, Navy Battle Fire on Singapore Flagged Container Ship off Kerala CoastIndia's Coast Guard is battling a massive fire aboard a Singapore-flagged cargo vessel, MV Wan Hai 503. The Indian Navy, also part of operations, rescued 18 out of the 22 crew members from the container ship which caught fire in the Arabian Sea off Kerala coast. The container ship reported an internal explosion in Kochi while it was on its way from Colombo to Mumbai. Following which, the India's Coast Guard received a distress call from and the Indian authorities took prompt action to bring the fire under control. At least two people were in a critical condition and four sustained injuries. Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in India expressed gratitude to the Indian Navy and the ICG for their efforts as 14 out of the 22 crew members are Chinese.
