My Night Out in Düsseldorf: A Story of Life and Vibes
In this video, I’m taking you along for a night out in Düsseldorf, Germany, with my good friend Shabnam. Since she’s been living here for over 10 years, she’s the perfect guide to show me the real "vibe" of the city.
We started our night in the Altstadt (Old Town). Shabnam calls it the "Tehran of Germany" because everyone looks so sharp and the energy is just on another level. I was amazed by the sheer number of bars and clubs packed into one area. We even passed by a legendary brewery that only serves one kind of beer, yet it’s always overflowing with people!
One of the coolest things I captured was the Bachelor and Bachelorette parties. Seeing people in crazy costumes celebrating their last night of "freedom" reminded me so much of our own celebrations back home—it’s funny how similar cultures can be when it comes to having a good time.
Later, we headed to MedienHafen, the modern harbor district. The architecture there is incredible—all metallic and futuristic. While walking around the luxury spots, we got into a deep conversation about the gap between rich and poor. We realized that whether you're wealthy or just an average student, everyone in Germany ends up doing the same thing: grabbing a drink and hanging out by the Rhine River. The only difference is the price of the seat!
Speaking of the Rhine, seeing hundreds of people sitting on the steps, watching the sunset at 10:00 PM, was the highlight for me. It made me reflect on how, no matter where we are in the world, we all just want to sit with friends, talk, and enjoy the moment.
The night didn't end without some classic European drama, though. We planned to hit a huge club in Cologne, but the German trains were cancelled three times! I ended up stranded halfway and finally made it home at 2:30 AM. It was exhausting, but it’s all part of the adventure of living in Europe!
