Il sindaco Matteo Lepore ha convocato per lunedì sera un presidio in piazza Nettuno per chiedere chiarezza sulla vicenda, ora al vaglio della magistratura.
La manifestazione, partita in modo pacifico, si è trasformata in scontri: un gruppo di manifestanti si è diretto verso la Prefettura scandendo cori contro le forze dell'ordine, con lancio di bombe carta e bottiglie; la polizia ha risposto con idranti e lacrimogeni. Il bilancio parla di undici feriti, sei agenti e cinque manifestanti, e due auto incendiate. Il caso ha subito acceso lo scontro politico, con il ministro dell'Interno Matteo Piantedosi che ha accusato Lepore di aver trasformato "una tragedia in una polemica".
