Dora Barrancos, socióloga, historiadora y ferviente feminista, compartió su inspiradora trayectoria en una charla cargada de compromiso social. Hija de un maestro socialista y una madre protestante, creció entre libros, cultivando un amor por la justicia y la autonomía. Sus primeras experiencias como maestra en sectores populares y con adultos marcaron su sensibilidad hacia las desigualdades. En los años 60, militó en la Juventud Peronista, pero la dictadura militar la obligó a exiliarse en Brasil en 1977, donde fue acogida y llegó a ser Directora de Escuelas Públicas en Minas Gerais. Un caso de violencia de género en Brasil reforzó su feminismo, que profundizó al regresar a Argentina en 1984. Como historiadora, investigó la cultura, la educación popular y los derechos de las mujeres, abogando siempre por una ciencia al servicio de la humanidad.
