Padi Diserang Hama Wereng Coklat, Petani di Demak Gagal Panen
DEMAK, KOMPAS.TV - Puluhan hektar tanaman padi siap panen di Kabupaten Demak, Jawa Tengah mengering diserang hama wereng cokelat.Akibatnya, petani terancam rugi lantaran hasil panennya menurun.
Lahan sawah di wilayah pedesaan Kecamatan Karang Anyar, Demak, Jawa Tengah dalam waktu sepekan sudah siap panen.
Namun, sejumlah petani tidak bersukacita karena sebagian tanaman padinya mengering sebelum panen lantaran diserang hama wereng.
Wereng cokelat adalah hama tanaman padi jenis serangga yang sangat ditakuti para petani, lantaran hama wereng bisa menyebabkan petani gagal panen.
Jenis hama wereng cokelat menyerang tanaman padi dengan cara menghisap cairan dalam batang tanaman yang berisi sari pati biji padi.
Dampak dari serangan wereng ini, jika sarinya sudah habis maka tanaman padi akan kering. Imbasnya bulir padi atau gabah menjadi gabuk atau kosong.
Akibat serangan hama wereng, penyusutan produksi padi dalam satu hektar bisa mencapai satu ton dari total hasil panen yang mencapai 6 ton.
Sementara, jika terkena serangan hama wereng kategori berat, penyusutan hasil produksi panen bisa mencapai lima puluh persen dalam satu hektarnya.
