Diketahui identitas jenderal Iran di Suriah yang tewas dalam serangan IDF adalah Saeed Abyar.
Jasad penasihat IRGC itu telah dimakamkan di Teheran.
Menurut The New York Times, Abyar adalah anggota ekspedisi Pasukan Quds IRGC dan telah ditempatkan di Suriah sejak tahun 2012.
Observatorium Suriah untuk Hak Asasi Manusia yang berbasis di Inggris mengatakan bahwa 16 anggota kelompok pro-Iran lainnya tewas dalam serangan tersebut.
Mereka yang tewas sebagai pemantau perang yang dikaitkan dengan Israel, “termasuk pejuang Suriah dan asing.”
Sebelumnya pada bulan April, Iran meluncurkan sekitar 300 rudal dan drone ke Israel.
Hampir semuanya berhasil dijatuhkan oleh pertahanan udara Israel dan sekutunya.
Serangan balasan itu menyusul dugaan serangan Israel menewaskan seorang jenderal penting IRGC dan beberapa perwira senior di Damaskus.
