Nước ở hồ chứa đập Tam Hiệp liên tục dâng cao do lượng mưa lớn trên sông Ngô Giang. Từ ngày 27.6, hồ chứa Tam Hiệp đã giữ lại khoảng 1,46 tỉ mét khối nước lũ. Sông Dương Tử - con sông dài nhất Trung Quốc có đập Tam Hiệp chắn ngang - đã ghi nhận mực nước dâng vượt mức cảnh báo ở đoạn sông tại Vũ Hán, tỉnh Hồ Bắc.
Tin lũ lụt Trung Quốc mới nhất của SCMP cho hay, quận Bình Giang ở tỉnh Hồ Nam, miền trung Trung Quốc đã hứng chịu trận lũ lụt nghiêm trọng nhất trong 70 năm sau những cơn bão xối xả.
Sông Mịch La (Miluo) - con sông đi qua quận Bình Giang sau đó đổ vào sông Dương Tử, con sông có đập Tam Hiệp ở thượng nguồn - đạt mực nước 77,67m lúc 12h30 sáng 2.7. Đây là mực nước cao nhất được ghi nhận ở tại sông Mịch La kể từ năm 1954 và vượt quá mức báo động hơn 7m. Bình Giang có 1,15 triệu dân, là một quận thuộc Nhạc Dương, một thành phố ở phía đông bắc Hồ Nam. Tại quận Mịch La gần đó, cũng thuộc thành phố Nhạc Dương, ít nhất 2 người dân được báo cáo mất tích sau vụ sạt lở đất ngày 1.7, theo đài truyền hình CCTV.
