SHIVERS, también conocida como Parásitos mortales, The Parasite Murders y They Came from Within; es una película canadiense de ciencia ficción y terror corporal de 1975 escrita y dirigida por David Cronenberg y protagonizada por Paul Hampton, Lynn Lowry y Barbara Steele. Tras terminar "Crímenes del Futuro", David Cronenberg vivió en Francia, donde rodó escenas de relleno para la Canadian Broadcasting Corporation con una cámara de 16 mm que adquirió gracias a una beca del Consejo Canadiense. Durante su estancia, asistió al Festival de Cine de Cannes, donde se dio cuenta de que "no podía hacer películas como las que venía haciendo y considerarme un cineasta profesional".
