DEUTSCHLAND: Bundeswehr feiert 70. Jahrestag | Frage nach dem Wehrdienst wieder hochaktuellMit einem feierlichen Gelöbnis auf dem Platz der Republik zwischen Kanzleramt und Bundestag begehen Regierung, Staatsführung und Parlament heute den 70. Jahrestag der Gründung der Bundeswehr. 280 Rekrutinnen und Rekruten leisten ihr öffentliches Bekenntnis zur Verteidigung der Demokratie. Die Bundeswehr wurde 1955 – zehn Jahre nach Kriegsende – als Reaktion auf den Kalten Krieg gegründet. Am Nachmittag diskutiert der Bundestag in einer Sondersitzung über die Zukunft der Truppe. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei auch die Debatte um eine mögliche Rückkehr zur Wehrpflicht vor dem Hintergrund des russischen Angriffskriegs gegen die Ukraine.
